ASU has offered a Bachelor in Science degree with a major in
construction for nearly 50 years. Enrollment has grown from 209
students in 1989 to the present enrollment of approximately 470
students including 65 graduate students. The enrollment of women
has increased from 6% to 11%. The support to the scholarship
program is outstanding, with more than $125,000 students for the
2003/2005 academic year. The School consistently experiences a
100% placement of its graduates, who receive an average starting
salary of $48,000. Students enjoy opportunities to work
with some of the best local, national and international
companies. Many of the top 100
ENR ranked companies recruit
from the Webb School of Construction annually.
The Del E. Webb School of Construction has been accredited by
the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) since 1977.
In 2005 the School passed the formal review process for
reaccredidation and official renewal was given in July/August
of 2005. DEWSC has an undergraduate Construction Management program
under the Ira Al Fulton School of Engineering. A School
within a School. DEWSC is
unique in being an engineering based program among ACCE schools.
The School confers a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of
Science degree, both with a major in construction.
Currently the undergraduate degree offers four concentration areas:
- General Construction (Industrial & commercial building)
- Heavy Construction (Roads, bridges, dams, & tunnels)
- Residential Construction (Custom homes, apartments, & condominiums)
- Specialty Construction (Mechanical and Electrical)
- Concrete Industry Management
The current requirement for the B.S. degree is 120 credit hours, as detailed in the 2006-07 catalog.
