The Del E. Webb School of Construction has planned a focused and well-supported ten-week on-site research program for undergraduate students. The key factors that were used in the design of the summer research program are:

  1. Direct experience with the methods and processes of inquiry

  2. Exposure to methods and processes of research

  3. Opportunities to communicate and work in teams to solve complex problems

  4. Development of open-ended problem-solving skills

  5. Availability of independent research work opportunities

  6. Enhanced student-faculty interaction in a mentor-mentee setting

  7. Enhanced student-student interaction (with other undergraduate and graduate students)
