| Turner Construction
Company was founded in 1902 by Henry C. Turner and DeForrest H. Dixon.
Throughout his career, Henry C. Turner referred to his clients as
"respected friends." This philosophy - integrity, concern for
quality and service to clients - continues today. Through teamwork and
partnering, a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to getting it right
the first time, Turner continues to be the leader in providing building
construction services.
Today, Turner has a broader geographic presence in the U.S. than any other construction company. Turner combines the accessibility and support of a local firm with the strength and resources of a national corporation. The company provides a complete range of construction and program management services in all segments of the non-residential building market. Turner’s construction services are delivered by a staff of team-oriented individuals who each share the common goal of exceeding the expectations of clients. These career-oriented staff are Turner’s prime asset and the success of any project is dependent upon them. Over the years, Turner and individual staff members have made significant contributions to the American construction industry. Turner-built projects have been frequently recognized for superior construction performance by national and local chapters of the Associated General Contractors of America and other organizations. |
Turner’s EEO and affirmative action programs - rooted in the company's tradition of social responsibility and fair play - are widely praised and have become models for the construction industry. Such recognition has contributed to the perception of Turner as "number one." Turner staff demonstrate again and again that they are determined to keep it that way. The Turner Corporation, which was a publicly traded company from 1969 through September 1999, is now a wholly owned subsidiary of HOCHTIEF AG. Together, our capabilities, skills and experience give our clients the benefit of local market knowledge and unmatched construction expertise throughout the world. It might appear that Turner today, with a staff of over 5,000 completing over $6 billion of construction annually, bears little resemblance to the operation begun by Henry Turner in 1902. Despite the growth, Turner remains closely tied to the values of our heritage. The emphasis on quality and integrity, service to clients and concern for each individual within the organization remains primary. These principles have served the company well, and they will continue to guide Turner in the pursuit of new opportunities. |
