Ph.D. Construction Students

DEWSC, as one of the leading construction education programs in the US and in the world, located at one of the most dynamic universities in the southwestern US, in the most rapidly growing area in the US, is uniquely poised to respond to many of the industry and academic needs and opportunities. The PhD degree program in Construction is designed to capitalize on our current leadership in US construction education programs and the current needs in the industry and in education.

The program will prepare research scholars, new faculty, and professionals for positions in industry, universities, and government, as well as facilitate a higher level of investigation and knowledge creation through the professor-PhD student dynamic. DEWSC is distinctively positioned to provide students with an interdisciplinary educational and research experience at the PhD level, which will provide value in construction education, research, and industry programs, private construction research facilities, and in high level management positions in the construction industry.

The objectives of the degree program include research experience for doctoral students who might wish to pursue careers in either industry or academia as members of interdisciplinary research teams, as well as a high level interdisciplinary doctoral education for those who wish to develop academic careers teaching at the university level.
