Master of Science Degree in Construction
The Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University offers a graduate degree program leading to a Master of Science degree with a major in Construction.
Areas of concentration for the Master of Science degree include:
- Construction Management
- Construction Science
- Facility Management
The Construction Management concentration allows students seeking upper level management positions in various sectors of the construction industry to improve their competency in project, program, and company management. The Construction Science concentration allows students with interest in field engineering or supervision of heavy and industrial construction projects to pursue a more technically oriented course of study. The Facility Management concentration supports the needs of the student desiring a career in the maintenance, operation, renovation, or decommissioning of existing facilities.
Students with undergraduate degrees in Architecture, Business, Engineering and Technology are encouraged to apply. International students must have a minimum TOEFL score of at least 550.
Most of the graduate courses are offered in the evening to accommodate the working professional.
Applied research is an integral part of the graduate degree. Ongoing research projects include projects related to clean-room construction , energy efficient home construction , performance based studies, concrete construction, deep foundation systems Construction management projects include dealing with construction company changes and personnel in a changing economy, the procurement process, incorporating traditional IE practices into construction planning and productivity issues, partnering and public sector contracting.
