Current Students
All students are required to complete the core courses, plus additional work to meet the number of hours of credit required of either the thesis option or non-thesis option. The courses selected should be tailored to the student's area of interest and must be approved by the student's Graduate Supervisory Committee. See appropriate course lists in the ASU Graduate Catalog. In addition to the MS degree requirements, some students (with a degree different than construction) may be required to take additional undergraduate courses.
Thesis Option:
30 graduate hours including a 6 hours thesis and defense.

Transfer Credits:
The transfer of courses taken at other institutions is limited to one sixth of the total degree requirement at ASU. For a thesis option student, six credits may be transferred. A non-thesis option student may transfer seven.
400 level courses:
No more than 6 hours of courses taken for credit toward a MS degree may be 400 level courses. Planning and Scheduling (CON 495) and Construction Contract Administration (CON 496) are deficiency courses, and may not be used to satisfy Master of Science degree requirements.
Non-Degree Courses:
No more than nine hours of graduate credit, taken prior to admission into the graduate program may be applied to a MS degree.
Undergraduate Reserve Credit:
Undergraduates may take graduate courses for credit toward their MS degree, however they must reserve the courses for their MS in writing at the time of enrollment.
