Grown to Highly Ranked
It is a great time to be in our
industry and in the Del E. Webb School of Construction! The
program has enjoyed many past successes thanks to the generosity
of the Del E. Webb Foundation, devoted alumni, and a
phenomenally supportive construction industry. Under the
outstanding leadership of Vern Hastings and Bill Badger, we have
grown over the past 32 years from a good program into a great
School! We are highly ranked in virtually every category by
which US academic programs are measured. Through its
scholarships, construction research, exceptional teaching
standards, and industry partnerships, the School is leading the
way in delivering the industry’s future leaders. Twenty percent
of our more than 2500 graduates are owners, CEO’s and executives
of their companies, and thirty percent of our women alumni hold
those titles.
Enhance our Strengths
Despite our focus on that future, we will
continue to enhance those strengths that have anchored our past
success of providing an outstanding undergraduate education. We will:
- Double our undergraduate enrollment in order to meet the industry’s needs for tomorrow’s leaders.
- Dedicate ourselves to research in the industry’s most challenging arenas.
- Continue to embrace the use of construction professionals in our teaching curriculum, research endeavors, and service opportunities. Their experience and wisdom are beyond measure.
Solidify our Foundation
A fundamental element of our new vision is
our capital campaign which is underway and has a goal of raising
significant resources for the School. We will use these funds
to solidify our scholarship base, enhance our academic programs,
support the placement of the Ph.D. program, retain our
productive faculty through professorships, and build a new
signature facility on the ASU Tempe campus.
