LUKE M.SNELL RECIEVES "CONCRETE COUNCIL AWARD OF HONOR"

Luke Snell graduated with his Bs in Civil Engineering in 1969 from Oklahoma University and in 1970 with his MS in Civil Engineering.

Luke has published over 200 articles in various Concrete topics and conducted over 400 seminars on various concrete topics nationwide. He has served 27 years as a professor at Southern IL University Edwardsville(SIUE) and started the Department of Construction at SIUE,27 years ago.

He is a concrete consultant on various Concrete construction problems, mostly in the metro St.Loui's area but has done several throughout the world. Luke has served as Concrete Council judge for their Concrete Awards for many years.

Luke has served on numerous committees, including, ACI Nominating, Board of Directors, Educational Activities and Chapter Activities.

Luke currently serves as ACI's International Committee chair and History of Concrete chair. he has also previously served as the Missouri Chapter's President , Vice President and Secretary for the last 15 years.

Luke Snell has been awarded the Emeritus Professor status at SIUE, the Missouri Engineer's Educator Award, ACI's Joe Kelley award, ACI's Fellow award, American Society of Civil Engineers Fellow award and the Great Teacher Award from the alumni at SIUE.

After retiring from SIU, Luke left St.Loui's and headed to Arizona State University to start the Concrete Industry Management program, a new program within the Del E.Webb School of construction.
