1991 NAWIC Outstanding Woman in Construction
Denise Norberg
Denise Norberg President since 1985 of Gust A. Norberg & Son, Inc, Chicago, IL. The company, a family business, was founded in 1922 as the Interior Hardwood Master Stairbuilders.
Ms. Norberg is active in American Subcontractors Association, NAWIC, and the Chicago Building Congress. She was the Keynote Speaker of the 8th Annual Construction Industry Recognition Banquet held in October 18, 1995, in Tempe, Arizona. The banquet was sponsored by the Greater Phoenix Chapter of NAWIC and the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University.
"The award has given me greater credibility among my peers
and enhanced my leadership potential," she wrote. "I
have been invited to serve as a seminar instructor, as a paid
consultant, and have been elected national president of American
Subcontractors Associaton. Although these things are not directly
attributable to the award, it certainly drew attention to me as
an 'expert' in the industry."
