Ronald R. Rodgers
Ronald (Ron) R. Rodgers, '77, had been named to the DEWSC Academy of Outstanding Alumni by the DEWSC Alumni Association for his dedication and commitment to the industry, School, and community.
President of J.B. Rodgers Mechanical - Kinetics, Ron has dealt in a variety of construction markets, from residential to high tech. He has been very active in construction trade associations, currently serves as chairman of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Industry Program. He is past president of the Air Conditioning Contractors of Ariona and Plumbing and Air Conditioning Contractors. He is past president and member of the board of the Arizona Bid Depository, which he helped to organize. His continued interest in training and education is evidenced by his service on the Phoenix Sheet Metal Joint Apprentice Training Committee and the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association Supervisory Training Committee.
He is co-chairman of the Performance Based Studies Research Group Task Force of the Alliance for Construction Excellence (ACE), DEWSC's industry outreach program, and is past president of the School's Industry Advisory Council.
Ron's community involvement is extensive. He serves on the YMCA Downtown Board of Directors, and is a member of the Valley of the Sun Kiwanis Club. Some of the agencies with which he is actively invloved are Christmas in April; St. Mary's Food Bank; Youth, Etc.; and Kids Voting Arizona.
In 1993 Ron was named Arizona Construction and Commercial Products Enterpreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine, Merrill Lynch, Southwest Airlines, The Business Journal, and Ernst & Young.
Ron completed the apprentice program of the Phoenix Sheet Metal Local 359 Union. His continued education has included seminars on project management, estimating, marketing, construction law, financial management, and Total Quality Management (TQM).
Ron and his wife, Cynthia, have two daughters.
